Full Itinerary
7:00 You will be picked up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and then head towards Cai Be District.
9:30 We will first visit the Cao Dai Temple Cai Be, which is home to Caodaism, a unique religion in this area, as well as the Cai Be Catholic Church once we arrive in Cai Be. After that, you will board a boat and travel to both the Cai Be land market and floating market in order to observe local life and to distinguish between the two. After leaving the two marketplaces, your discovery tour will continue as you use a hand-rowing boat, the Mekong people’s primary mode of transportation, to investigate river life. The boat will take you to the “mysterious” Mekong lush orchards as it travels through the meandering rivers and crisscrossed canals.
Return to the boat and go to Tan Phong Island, where you can unwind and savor some local fare before continuing our tour of the island by bicycle. We’ll go to the traditional handicraft factories where rice papers, purses, and other wooden furniture are made. You will also get the opportunity to make friends with neighborhood cute and sweet students at a village school if it is during the school day. Visit a nearby farmer’s home to enjoy a cup of tea and some of the region’s specialty banana candy…
You can try plucking the fruits at the host’s garden and talk to him to understand how local farmers take care of their bonsai gardens, fruit gardens.
Saying goodbye to the hospitable host, we keep on biking to the bang conical hat (nón bàng) workshop. Cycle back to Cookingclass restaurants Tan Phong and enjoy local food specialties.
15:00 You will embark the boat to leave Tan Phong Island for the pier to come back Ho Chi Minh City. Tour ends.
